Getting the most from the best machine in the world

Boss Litho – City of Industry, California, USA

“High quality printing and custom packaging is our business,” says Jean Paul Nataf, CEO of Boss Litho. Located in the City of Industry, close to Los Angeles, the company supplies clients across the USA. These range from start-ups to world-renowned ‘Fortune 500’ brands that expect the very best from their suppliers. “So, when we needed a new die-cutter, we bought the best machine in the world, a BOBST.”

But simply buying the best machine isn’t quite enough, Mr Nataf explains. “You also need the skills to get the best out of it. That’s where the training by the BOBST instructor from Bobst North America came in. He helped our operators gain the skills to get the highest productivity and quality out of the machine and so keep our customers satisfied.”

Rigid Containers – Desborough, UK

When Rigid Containers Desborough, UK, plant received a die-cutter from elsewhere in the VPK Packaging Group, training was a key concern for Site Director, Les Swanick. “We pride ourselves on quality and reliability. To get that you need a reliable machine, decent tooling and good, well trained people. The training they received from BOBST was top drawer.”

Despite not all having previous experience on flat-bed die-cutters, the crews trained were able to smash the target number of sheets set by the plant for the first full day of production. Mr. Swanick says that the training from BOBST was so effective that he will be calling the Bobst instructor back to run refresher training. “It’s value for money. People can quickly build up bad habits, so we’ll be using the refresher to keep them on track.”
