Silicone coating technology on show at upcoming BOBST Open House in Italy

A new line for coating paper and other flexible substrates nearing completion in Bobst Italia’s production plant is providing the perfect opportunity for a comprehensive update of the most up-to-date technology available in this field. The latest generation ROTOSIL silicone coating line will be on display on 3rd and 4th July 2012 in S. Giorgio Monferrato, northern Italy. The production plant is BOBST’s centre of excellence for web-fed coating & laminating technologies.

This latest production line features BOBST’s most recent technical advances in the field of equipment for silicone coating for release liners, especially in regard to the coating units, the drying system and the re-moisturizing system, together with the unparalleled web handling know-how which is the hallmark of BOBST’s technologies across a very wide application range.

To complement the production line viewing, the Open House will also provide the opportunity to attend presentations detailing the latest state-of-the-art technical update in the field of specialty coating, also from distinguished guest speakers from industry’s leading companies.

Based on strong experience in the field of specialty coating applications that spans back to 1960, BOBST’s involvement in this specialized field of the converting industry has been gathering new impetus in recent years as part of the Group’s strategy.

The main specialty coating technologies that BOBST set out to develop and promote relate to applications in the industry segments of label stock & release liners, adhesive tapes and pre/post metallizing, so as to further expand the offering of high performance packaging and converting solutions.

It is within this context that new investments in resources have been committed, dedicated to development, engineering, sales and project management, with a view to developing the most fitting infrastructure to drive the development of this interesting market sector.
